December initiatives

As many of you already know, System Verification is not only a kick-ass niched QA company but also a company filled with caring individuals with the need and wish to help others.

During the year, with different kinds of initiatives, we gave our take topositively contribute to a better society, whether through a competition, where our winning employees got the opportunity to choose an organization to support with the prize money, simply raising money for a joint purpose, or something completely different. What matters the most is that this way of living, the need of supporting others among us is a part of us all, and we are very proud of what we can achieve together.

Movember - Movement for a better cause

For all our System Verification offices, November is a month full of activity. Traditionally, we choose this month to be full of events and movement, but we also gave it a special meaning due to a greater cause connected to it. We named it Movember - as a lot of other initiatives, but with an extra mening into the ''move''- part.

Movement is a very important part of well-being. Doing all sorts of activities, whether they are exercise or a simple afternoon walk, we take care of our health, and make our life more joyful. But what if we use that initiative, connect the dots, and work both on our health and also as a way to help others? November is the month when people worldwide take a moment to acknowledge the fight against prostate cancer.
We are all aware of the fact that this year has been a tough one for the people of Ukraine, and we wanted to niche ourselves even more and help cancer victims and their loved ones in the shadow of the war - both men and women, of Ukraine. So that is exactly what we did.

World QA Day

Quality Assurance, or QA testing, is an important step in the software development process. By discovering defects early in the development cycle, QA testing will save time, money, and frustration. Faster and more frequent software releases create room for error, which makes quality assurance a vital part for the success of any fast-paced development. With QA being the core business of SYVE, we are naturally excited to recognize and celebrate World QA Day.

A person that haput his heart into QA over the years is our CEO of System Verification Sweden, Fredrik Grimsberg.

SYVE Around The World- Almost there

Meet Julia, the project manager for SYVE Around The world.

We have now walked for a little bit over a month in this year’s set up, together we have at this time walked close to 60 000 000 steps with 139 participants. This year we had set the goal to walk around the world. This is the second year we at System Verification arrange this type of internal walking competition. Read about last year here. Last time we walked 97% around the globe, before the first team reached the finish line in Stockholm. It felt a bit like we stumbled on the finish line, which inspired this year's set up.

We have walked virtually through Italy, Lebanon, India, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Africa, Argentina and soon we will pass France before we will reach the finish line in Croatia, Spilt. Why Split you may wonder? This year all our regions will finally meet in person again, at our annual conference, that will actually take place in Split! A perfect opportunity to also have an award ceremony for SYVE Around The World. All the teams are mixed with colleagues from all our hubs around Europe and I think that this will really ‘’tie up the sack’’ for this year's competition.

Student QA Mingle

Last week our Talent Acqusition Team hosted a student event, at our HQ in Malmö. They invited students that are currently studying to become software test engineers at EC Utbildning in Malmö. This program and System Verification’s niche are very aligned, and we are happy for our continued collaboration with EC. System Verification has employees that has studied this program before, both newly graduated and some more experienced. A perfect match for future opportunities for students to land a matching job and for us to connect with these talents.

The evening consisted of interesting and insightful panel discussions together with some of our expert consultants and our very own doctor in Software Quality Assurance, Magnus C Ohlsson. Before the event the students had submitted what they were most curious to know about test, QA and the role as consultant. Resulted in different topics and discussions - both on a more technical level but also everything from agile methodologies, qualities as a tester and different roles within QA.

With amazing food and drinks that was served later we had a great time. The evening continued with some contact-making mingle with our experts and the students.

System Verification Malmö hires its first fully remote employee

At System Verification we believe in new ways of working. We always strive to work in a modern way and don’t hesitate to try new things. Early in the pandemic, when a lot of companies discussed what impact this would have on them, we instead had workshops focusing on what possibilities this could give us. One of them was remote work, hiring people purely on skill and values and not based on geographic location.
