A Look Back at Our First System Gatherings - Exploring AI

We have now wrapped up the first round of these events, and it feels like a great moment to look back and share what we have learned together.

A Gathering With Two Sides

Each event was split into two parts:

1. Sharing and Discussions
   We started with a relaxed and open conversation about how people are using AI in their daily work and what kinds of challenges they are facing. Everyone had the chance to bring up ideas, ask questions, and suggest things they would like to try. The goal was to learn from each other, and we really did.
   
   
2. Hands-On Work
   After a well-earned break with food and drinks, it was time to dive into hands-on activities. With tools like VS Code, GitHub Copilot, and Continue.dev, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work on real tasks and test automation challenges.
   
   

What We Tried and Discovered

The workshops showed just how many ways LLMs can help us work smarter. Some of the things we explored include:

• Making user stories clearer and easier to understand using the S.M.A.R.T. method
• Adding missing acceptance criteria
• Spotting gaps in requirements
• Creating test strategies based on international standards like ISO 29119
• Converting domain knowledge into Gherkin scenarios and test cases
• Writing end-to-end test cases for systems with several different endpoints
• Helping with test automation by identifying page objects
• Writing release notes using Git data
• Creating test reports
• Suggesting edge cases that are easy to miss

And these are just some of the highlights. There were lots of creative ideas and experiments—and even a few “crazy” ones that turned out to be quite smart after all.

The mindset people brought in was what truly made these Gatherings special. Everyone comes curious, open to learning, and ready to share. So far, we have hosted a Gathering in Malmö, and next up is Sarajevo in June, followed by Hamburg and Frankfurt in July. We are really looking forward to continuing this journey together and seeing where the next sessions will take us.
